Production Operator

Overview:The Production Operator will assist operators (stenter and slitting) and assistant operators in the overall operation of the line to achieve company goals and meet customer needs in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.Responsibilities:Maintain housekeeping and a safe work area, (inside and outside area's).Communicate information to all levels.Obtain all materials necessary for the area to operate smoothly (packing supplies, stores items, etc.).Provide overall assistance in slitting, stenter, and recovery areas, (feeding cutters with cut-offs, splits, wrap rolls in slitting, pack DHO rolls, doff slit rolls, operate hoists, etc.).Develop and maintain skill set to upgrade to assistant stenter operator and/or slitting operator.Prevent cross-contamination of polymers.Transports reclaim and finished goods safely. Dispose of used cores properly.Perform roll changes as well as general help during pack and die changes.Provide for proper training of new material handlers.Contribute to meeting business metrics - go to where the work is.Contribute to the team effort - attendance, punctuality, dependable, works well with others.Communicate to Operator any abnormal line conditions or system alarms.Maintain required documentation on safety inspections, customer test, line metrics and housekeeping task completion.Unload buggies and flat beds of film.Insure proper film types, gauges and treated side when making roll tickets/labels.Visually inspect rolls (mill roll, DHO, and slit) for surface defects. Empty tilt buggies.Take work direction from othersOther duties as assigned.Qualifications:Computer skills. Knowledge of the stenter, slitting, and recovery areas, (equipment identification) via SBM.General / Basic Knowledge of the film making process.Knowledge of safety rules and safe equipment operation, Lock, Tag, Clear, &Try, DNT procedures, checklists. Licensed to operate all necessary p.i.v.s.Knowledge of the customer's end use / Key to quality parameters, (via AMOSS system).Knowledge of packing materials.Working knowledge of the ISO/SBM procedures.Troubleshooting skills.Ability to use various measuring devices.Knowledge of basic Safety processes through Site intranet resources. Knowledge of SPC to support process control.Ability to learn and use new computer software packages.Safe Hoist operation.
