Reference #: RADIO029664 • *Description** • *Summary** The Dispatcher is responsible for providing the Radiology Tech in the field with information on patient exams. The Dispatcher will assist and provide direction to the field radiologic technologists so that studies are completed in a timely manner. The employee must maintain a professional demeanor at all times considering the sensitivity of the work. • *Essential Duties and Responsibilities** • Assign Technologists to the proper general area and facilities as noted on the schedule. • Message Technologist for "STAT", and other orders as required. • Communicate and report problems to Supervisor and Field Supervisor • Data Entry for new orders • Focus on assigned dispatch area, but must be aware of activity in other areas. • *Qualifications** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to write well-constructed emails using proper English grammar and punctuation. • *Reasoning Ability** Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. • *Computer Skills** To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Windows Explorer, MS Word Processing software and some experience working with computer software. • *Other** • Must be able to complete other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Lead, or Coordinator. • Must be able to work overtime as needed. • Must be flexible with shift changes based on business need. • Assist with special projects as assigned by management team. • Actively participate to recommend changes which can create efficiencies and/or process streamlining. • Must check mailbox daily to keep abreast of memos. • *Physical Demands** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
