Receptionist / Kennel Assistant Job DescriptionJob Summary The Receptionist / Kennel Assistant plays a crucial role in managing the daily operations at Southern Divine Kennels Pet Grooming, LLC. This dual-role requires excellent customer service skills, the ability to multitask, and attention to detail. You will interact with clients, manage appointments, handle transactions, oversee kennel operations, and maintain facility cleanliness. Cross-training in both roles is essential for career development and potential for a pay increase and bonus opportunities.Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Interaction:• Answer phones promptly and courteously, addressing inquiries and directing calls appropriately.• Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, check in dogs for grooming services, and ensure smooth discharge procedures.• Process payments for grooming services and retail products accurately, providing receipts.• Efficiently manage scheduling and cancellation of grooming appointments, maintaining an organized calendar.• Provide detailed information about services and products, addressing client questions and concerns.• Confirm upcoming appointments and notify clients when pets are ready for pick-up.• Respond to client emails promptly, ensuring all inquiries are addressed.Administrative Tasks:• Organize and manage the daily schedules of groomers, adjusting as needed for meetings or time off.• Collect and maintain accurate client information regarding pets’ care, grooming needs, and special instructions.• Address client complaints professionally, escalating issues to management as needed. Respond to positive reviews and escalate poor reviews for executive response.• Respond to new leads and manage salon supplies, placing orders when necessary.• Oversee Kennel Attendants to ensure tasks are completed correctly and efficiently.• Complete and submit monthly salon audits on time.Salon Maintenance:• Review and complete the end-of-day checklist, ensuring cleanliness and organization of the salon.• Collaborate with the team to maintain a clean and well-presented salon environment.Animal Care:• Walk and provide water to dogs, monitoring their health, behavior, and well-being.• Clean kennels after each dog is removed and perform basic grooming tasks under guidance.• Provide compassionate care, attention, and comfort to pets, creating a nurturing environment.Facility Maintenance:• Maintain cleanliness throughout the facility, including kennels, grooming areas, and common areas.• Sanitize bedding and materials, perform routine cleaning, and ensure equipment is in good condition.• Maintain parking areas and poop stations, ensuring cleanliness and proper maintenance.Customer Service and Communication:• Greet pet owners promptly and assist with check-in and check-out procedures.• Communicate with pet owners about their pets' well-being and follow specific instructions and requests.Team Collaboration:• Work effectively with groomers and the management team to maintain a cohesive work environment.• Assist groomers during sessions by preparing and restraining animals as needed.Qualifications and Skills:• High school diploma or equivalent.• Previous experience with animals preferred (kennel, grooming facility, veterinary clinic, or animal shelter).• Basic knowledge of animal care, handling, and hygiene practices.• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.• Strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings.• Passion for animals and a commitment to their well-being.Additional Information:• Cross-training in front desk operations and kennel duties is required.
