This position reports to the Sr. Director, FDA Regulatory Affairs & Food Safety and will support Central animal food facilities. The FDA Regulatory Specialist's principal responsibility will be to ensure that Central facilities and products are registered or renewed with applicable state regulatory agencies as well as reporting tonnage as required by each state. The position includes interacting with internal departments and externally with the state regulators. The position will also center on supporting the Sr. Director, Regulatory Affairs and other regulatory team members as needed to ensure FDA and state government and other regulatory compliance for Central products. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Work directly with domestic state regulators for new/existing registrations and tonnage reporting, and preparation of required documents for products. Develop and cultivate external and internal relationships to avoid disruptions, lack in communication, and to streamline our processes. Assist with deployment and maintenance of regulatory procedures. Ensure cost reduction efforts by focusing on reducing registrations costs and penalties. Support Regulatory department employees and assist with other duties as required/requested by the Senior Director. QUALIFICATIONS Technical Skills/Experience Required: Proficiency using Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Strong attention to details. Solid interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work with a variety of people. Must have the ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Must have the ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Must have the ability to remain level-headed with a corporate goal orientation while prioritizing multiple projects, crisis management, and work effectively with regulators, customers, and co-workers.
