[Remote] Account Executive, PR

The Account Executive will play a key role in executing strategic PR programs, supporting day-to-day operations for a portfolio of clients, and developing media relations to achieve high-impact results. Responsibilities Day-to-day PR program execution on a maximum of 6 accounts, including media relations, supporting the account lead, writing, client relations, and reporting Scoring high-impact, top-tier media placements for your clients across all media verticals and mediums Maintain client activity trackers and drive the client reporting process Develop client account resources: media lists, speaking and awards lists, editorial calendars Bringing creative ideas to your clients about how to break through the news cycle Manage news monitoring process: client and competitor roundups—not just identifying it but also putting forward ideas about what we do with it Explain complex tech and industry-changing ideas to journalists in three sentences or less Participate in media training sessions and interviews Utilizing your writing skills to craft thoughtful content and communications for and with clients and media Skills 1-3 years of experience A passionate storyteller and trendspotter Motivated, enthusiastic self-starter able to complete tasks with support from your account leads A gracefully persistent storyteller that understands how the media works and what's happening in the world Excited about building first-name-basis relationships with press, influencers and analysts across B2B and/or B2C tech An executor that is passionate about error-free work, double-checking that you've dotted your Is and crossed your Ts A team player who loves to contribute to the success of your teammates and clients Healthy dose of curiosity, as you'll be trendspotting and researching across your client industries Ability to complete the first drafts of creative work, press materials and support the generation of out-of-the-box ideas Skills in written and verbal client communication Heavily support account management deliverables that help our programs run efficiently and effectively Proactively developing hard-hitting story angles that regularly turn into high-impact media results for clients Growing your own industry reputation and Rolodex Passionate about meeting with journalists, influencers, and industry experts Previous experience in the tech (B2B or B2C) and startup worlds is helpful Deep understanding of the shifting earned media landscape and how to measure the value of a PR win Energetic and nimble self-starter that's comfortable with shifting timelines and priorities Doesn't shy away from receiving or giving feedback (even to managers) Willing to shoot their shot with a crazy idea, or raise their hand for a challenge Day-to-day PR program execution on a maximum of 6 accounts, including media relations, supporting the account lead, writing, client relations, and reporting Scoring high-impact, top-tier media placements for your clients across all media verticals and mediums Maintain client activity trackers and drive the client reporting process Develop client account resources: media lists, speaking and awards lists, editorial calendars Bringing creative ideas to your clients about how to break through the news cycle Manage news monitoring process: client and competitor roundups—not just identifying it but also putting forward ideas about what we do with it Explain complex tech and industry-changing ideas to journalists in three sentences or less Participate in media training sessions and interviews Utilizing your writing skills to craft thoughtful content and communications for and with clients and media Benefits Flexible work hours Minimum 20 days paid vacation annually 401k + financial wellness support Health Insurance (medical, dental, life, pet, mental health services) Home office allowance Bi-annual Wellness Credits Monthly Technology Credit (to offset internet / phone costs) Comprehensive Parental Leave Policy Company Overview Codeword is a creative agency that helps startups and brands share their stories with the world.
