As a Customer Service Representative, you will be the frontline ambassador of our mission, providing personalized assistance and guidance to Maryland residents via phone. Key Responsibilities Respond to inbound calls from customers seeking information and assistance with health insurance options, providing clear and concise guidance. Update customer and account information accurately and efficiently. Maintain detailed case records and document the purpose of each call. Utilize multiple database applications to access relevant information and provide solutions. Embrace feedback and continuous learning to improve performance and contribute to team growth. Address general customer inquiries in a professional and courteous manner. Strive to meet and exceed performance metrics, driving opportunities for professional development and career advancement. Essential Qualifications and Skills To succeed in this role, you will need: A high school diploma or equivalent; college attendance or a degree is preferred. At least 1 year of experience in a call center environment, preferably with a background in healthcare-related customer service. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in an accessible way. Proficiency in computer applications and the ability to learn new systems quickly. A strong understanding of health insurance policies and terminology, or a willingness to learn. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and colleagues. The capacity to problem-solve, prioritize tasks, and multitask with ease. Flexibility and reliability, with availability for occasional overtime as needed. The ability to pass required skill and knowledge assessment tests. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in the healthcare industry or a related field. Familiarity with health insurance marketplaces and the nuances of health coverage. A proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. Training and Nesting Period To ensure your success in this role, we provide comprehensive training and a structured nesting period. Here's what you can expect: 3 weeks of intensive class training, conducted Monday through Friday. 4 weeks of supervised call taking (nesting), where you'll apply your skills and knowledge in a real-world setting. During the training and nesting period, you'll need to provide your own compatible computer equipment (Windows 10 or MAC OS 10.14 or higher, webcam, and headset).
