[Remote] Junior Employment Counsel

Legal.io is a leading tech company seeking a Junior Employment Counsel for a 3-month contract dedicated to supporting redundancy exercises. The role focuses on managing redundancies and addressing performance management issues while contributing to broader project work. Responsibilities • Manage and execute redundancy exercises efficiently, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations • Provide strategic advice on performance management issues, supporting HR and management teams to mitigate risks • Develop and maintain legal playbooks and guidelines to streamline redundancy and performance management processes • Collaborate with internal teams to keep litigation and billing trackers up to date, ensuring accurate and timely reporting • Work closely with legal operations to enhance legal and administrative processes within the organization Skills • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar • 4+ years of experience in employment law, with a strong focus on redundancy and performance management issues • Proven ability to manage and implement redundancy exercises in a compliant and efficient manner • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously in a remote setting • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including HR and legal operations • Experience in developing legal playbooks and managing legal tracking systems Company Overview • Legal.io is the enterprise marketplace for legal talent and tools.
