The Pharmacy Data Scientist III is responsible for creating complex data requests, reports, and predictive models to support pharmacy operations, while also preparing presentations for senior management and collaborating with multiple departments. Responsibilities • Prepares written reports and oral presentations for senior management that summarizes the data analyzed, interprets the findings, and provides conclusions and recommendations • Creates key performance indicators (KPIs) that allow us to monitor data trends to proactively identify issues and evaluate the performance of programs and solutions • Demonstrates proficiency using internal and business partner portals and reporting capabilities • Works cross-functionally with multiple departments on collaborative projects • Performs data analysis using statistical applications • Develops supporting documentation for queries and reports • Performs any other job related instructions, as requested Skills • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent years of relevant work experience required • Minimum of eight (8) years of data analysis background to include two (2) years each of pharmacy and medical data; PhD in a health related discipline may be considered in lieu of this experience • Proficiency in Python (libraries like pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn) or Scala for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and machine learning. • Expertise in querying large datasets from relational databases (e.g., patient records, prescription data, lab data, Social Determinants of health). • Knowledge of tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Python libraries (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly) to create dashboards and visualize trends for stakeholders. • Strong understanding of statistical methods (e.g., hypothesis testing, regression analysis) to analyze clinical data. • Familiarity with machine learning techniques (e.g., supervised/unsupervised learning, predictive modeling) for applications like patient outcome analysis. • Knowledge of time-series analysis for forecasting drug demand or future price impacts. • Experience with big data tools (e.g., Azure DataBricks, Spark) for handling large-scale pharmacy datasets. • Data wrangling skills to clean and preprocess healthcare datasets (e.g., handling missing data, inconsistent formats). • Understanding of data integration from disparate sources like electronic health records (EHRs), claims data, or Fee for Service claims databases. • Familiarity with healthcare systems, including regulations, reimbursement processes, and pharmacy operations. • Knowledge of clinical terminologies (e.g., SNOMED, ICD-10, Medispan, FirstDataBank, RxNorm) for working with medical and prescription data. • Strong attention to detail and thinking critically about requests/data • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data from multiple sources • Ability to visually present and communicate data, analyses, and findings orally and in writing • Time management skills - effectively, efficiently and accurately managing multiple tasks simultaneously under tight timelines in a self-directed manner within a fast-paced healthcare environment while communicating risks and issues to manager regularly • Ability to think creatively and systemically to solve problems and perform data analyses • Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel – able to create presentation-ready charts, graphs, and pivot tables • High level of curiosity and/or desire to be innovative/creative • Proficient in statistical application and techniques • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, or Statistics preferred Benefits • In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance. • We are highly invested in every employee’s total well-being and offer a substantial and comprehensive total rewards package.
