The Veteran Intake Specialist is responsible for conducting intake calls, gathering accurate information, and guiding veterans through the initial steps of the claims process with professionalism and empathy. Responsibilities Conduct inbound and outbound intake calls with veterans seeking assistance with VA disability claims Collect, verify, and document veteran information, including service history, claimed conditions, and relevant medical details Explain the VetClaims.ai process and set clear expectations for next steps Accurately enter and maintain information in internal systems and platforms Identify missing or incomplete information and follow up as needed Coordinate handoffs to Fulfillment, C&P Preparation, or other internal teams Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, PII, and company data protection standards Provide professional, empathetic, and respectful support to veterans at all times Skills Must reside in or near San Antonio, Texas Prior experience in customer service, intake, call center, or administrative roles Experience working in a medical, healthcare, or clinical environment (e.g., medical assistant, medical office, patient intake, healthcare admin) Strong verbal communication and active listening skills Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion Basic computer proficiency and ability to work across multiple systems Reliable attendance and punctuality Veteran status or direct experience working with veterans strongly preferred Familiarity with VA disability claims, VA healthcare, or benefits-related processes Understanding of medical terminology and documentation Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment Company Overview VetClaims.AI offers a low flat fee, saving veterans compared to competitors who take a percentage of backpay and increases.
