Research Assistant I, General Internal Medicine

They are seeking a Research Assistant to support a SafeSpot intervention study aimed at engaging overdose survivors to use an overdose prevention hotline and reduce their unwitnessed substance use. Responsibilities Generate weekly recruitment and retention status reports for team meetings and take meeting notes Assist with presentations and manuscripts development Support coordination and the conduct of focus group sessions for intervention development, assist with content analysis Recruit and screen study participants admitted to the hospital and from post overdose programs, harm reduction organizations, and street outreach Conduct informed consent procedures, complete study assessments/qualitative interviews with participants and enter data Regularly contact participants to retain them for the duration of the study Maintain and update study documentation (e.g. study trackers, logs, progress notes, etc.) Assist with data management (e.g. data quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness) Participate in meetings and ongoing trainings Skills A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required 1+ years of relevant work experience in research, data collection, or working with people who use substances is highly preferred Knowledge of harm reduction principles, substance use disorders, or related work a plus Organization skills and strong attention to detail Strong time management and task prioritization skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook Ability and willingness to travel to community partner sites across Massachusetts Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred Demonstrate a commitment to our team's core values: Teamwork, Mindfulness and Open-Mindedness, High Quality Work, Professional Growth, Work/Life Balance 1+ years of relevant work experience in research, data collection, or working with people who use substances is highly preferred Knowledge of harm reduction principles, substance use disorders, or related work a plus Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred Benefits Competitive pay Tuition reimbursement and tuition remission programs Highly subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance options Career Advancement/Professional Development: Access a wealth of ongoing training and development opportunities that will not only enhance your skills but also expand your knowledge base especially for individuals pursuing careers in medicine or biomedical research.
