Resource Management Department Coordinator (Administrative Support Coordinator II)

San Diego State University is seeking a Resource Management Department Coordinator to support the administrative, financial, and operational needs of the Resource Management department within the Fowler College of Business. The role involves providing comprehensive office support, managing clerical and financial tasks, and utilizing various enterprise systems to ensure smooth departmental operations. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive administrative and office support for the Resource Management department, working closely with the Resource Director to meet operational needs Manage clerical, financial, and data-related tasks, including spreadsheets, reports, budget tracking, and routine financial analysis Use enterprise systems and tools such as PeopleSoft, OnBase, Oracle, Adaptive, and Microsoft Office to support departmental processes Prepare correspondence, reports, and documentation, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with university policies and procedures Independently manage multiple priorities and projects, applying judgment and problem-solving skills in an environment with evolving needs Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to draft correspondence and standard reports and thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel spreadsheet creation and data manipulation, as well as Word, Visio, and PowerPoint Clerical, administrative, and financial experience, including working knowledge of budget policies and procedures Ability to perform standard business math, including calculating ratios and percentages, tracking financial data, and making simple projections Thorough knowledge of university infrastructure, policies, procedures, and office systems, with the ability to independently apply policies where specific guidelines may not exist Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects independently and be fully functional in all technical aspects of assigned work Ability to effectively handle a broad range of interpersonal contacts, including higher-level stakeholders and sensitive or confidential matters Experience building and maintaining effective vendor relationships, with a strong focus on customer service and collaboration Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite These qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience Proficiency with PeopleSoft (Temp Faculty Module), OnBase (Academic Transaction Module), Oracle, and Adaptive is preferred Benefits Generous Time Off : 15 paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave.
