Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly detail-oriented Accounting Manager to play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our organization's financial records. This full-time, work-from-home position is ideal for a dedicated professional based in Ohio with strong analytical skills and a commitment to financial excellence. You will be responsible for core general ledger duties, ensuring compliance with company policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). A key focus of this role is overseeing the cash deposit process for all salon locations, guaranteeing timely and accurate recording. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & General Ledger • Complete routine journal entries and ensure accurate, timely recording of all financial transactions. • Manage and execute accurate and timely month-end closing processes. • Develop and maintain regular financial reports using the company’s accounting system (NetSuite knowledge is a plus) and other tools. • Ensure in-depth knowledge and application of GAAP principles and relevant financial regulations. Accounts Payable (AP) Management • Oversee the complete Accounts Payable cycle from invoice receipt to payment. • Review all AP invoices for accuracy and proper company-policy approvals. • Process all payment types (checks, ACH, electronic payments) accurately and on time. • Verify electronic payments for accuracy and follow up on any payment issues. • Monitor vendor invoicing, follow up on discrepancies, and manage the retention of all AP documentation. • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and monitor exceptions/cost increases. Cash Management & Oversight • Serve as the primary banking contact for deposit-related concerns across all locations. • Verify and audit daily cash deposits for each location. • Resolve deposit discrepancies in coordination with Salon Managers, Operations, and bank branches. • Monitor and manage each location's banking needs, including branch changes, policies, and fees. Qualifications: Required Education & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field (Required). • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting (Required). • Must be Located in Ohio. • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as the job demands (in-state, out-of-state, and overnight). Technical & Core Competencies: • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial principles. • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet software. • Proven knowledge of accounting software; NetSuite experience is highly desirable • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial records. Work Environment: • Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt. • Reporting: Reports to the Director of Finance. • Remote Work: This is a Work From Home eligible position, with the requirement to be based in Ohio.
