This includes researching issues, reconciling databases, and completing detailed calculations. The Senior Consultant is responsible for creating positive team member experiences, which lead to excellent client service and drive revenue and profit for the Firm. The ideal candidate with have analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with strong people skills. Client: • Responds to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities. Value: • Assists manager and clients in managing state unclaimed property audits and voluntary disclosure program reviews. • Develops and coordinates records requests and collaborates with clients to gather needed documentation. • Reviews records requested by auditor and other necessary records to ensure suitability for disclosure to auditors. • Reviews general ledger chart of accounts and trial balances to identify areas of potential unclaimed property liability (like A/R and A/P). • Engages and facilitates client communication. • Reviews and analyzes client data files to identify unclaimed property liability and creates schedules of potentially unclaimed items. • Reviews and analyzes remediation support to determine unclaimed property status of individual items. • Works with manager to develop strategy for mitigating potential liability. • Prepares workbook of potential liability by property type. • Drafts written reports detailing review and quantification methods. • Researches state unclaimed property statutes. • Assists with review and revision of company’s existing unclaimed property policies and procedures. • Drafts and edits correspondence. • Handles and safeguards confidential information. • Desire to perform in a high-energy team environment. • Demonstrated problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity. • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels. • Performs other duties as assigned Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics. • Must have at least two to four years unclaimed property consulting, state government auditing, or third-party auditing experience preferred. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research. Certificates and Licenses: Valid driver’s license required. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment: • Standard indoor working environment. • Occasional long periods of sitting or standing while working. • Occasional long periods of standing while copying. • Position requires regular interaction with employees and clients both in person, via e-mail and telephone. • Independent travel requirement: up to 5% Compensation Pay Transparency: For certain California based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $93,500.00 - $123,750.00 For other California based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $86,000.00 - $113,850.00 For Colorado based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $82,000.00 - $108,350.00 For Illinois based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $86,000.00 - $113,850.00 For other Illinois based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $82,000.00 - $108,350.00 For Maryland based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $82,000.00 - $108,350.00 D30$86,000.00 - $113,850.00 For Massachusetts based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $86,000.00 - $113,850.00 For other Massachusetts based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $82,000.00 - $108,350.00 For New Jersey based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $93,500.00 - $123,750.00 For New York based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $93,500.00 - $123,750.00 For other New York based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $78,000.00 - $103,400.00 For Washington based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $86,000.00 - $113,850.00 The Firm makes offers based on many factors, including qualifications and experience.
