Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and support analytics solutions that provide insights to drive better business decisions Collaborate with source data application teams and product owners to develop data engineering solutions using Azure products and services, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Event Hub, Azure Stream Analytics, and Azure Databricks Perform multiple aspects of the development lifecycle, including design, cloud architecture, ingestion, preparation, data modeling, testing, CI/CD pipelines, performance tuning, deployments, utilization, BI, alerting, and push support Provide technical leadership and collaborate within a team environment, as well as work independently Be part of a DevOps team that fully owns and supports their product Implement batch and streaming data pipelines using cloud technologies Drive development of coding standards, best practices, and protection and security guidelines Coach others on technical and domain skills to build multi-functional teams Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training 3+ years of programming solution development experience using agile, DevOps, working in a product model that includes designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications or data engineering solutions 3+ years of data analysis experience using SQL 3+ years of cloud development and data lake experience (preferably Microsoft Azure), including Azure EventHub, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Azure Databricks, Azure DevOps, Azure Mass Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Applications, and Power BI A blend of Development, Operations, and Support experience in several of the following tools/platforms: Scripting: Python, Flash, Unix, SQL Data Platforms: Teradata, Cassandra, MongoDB, Prophet, SQL Server, ADLS, Snowflake Azure Cloud Technologies: Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Mass Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Applications, and Azure Functions CI/CD: GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Terraform BI Analytics Tool Stack - Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Denodo, and Grafana Data Warehousing: DataStage, Informatica Data Governance and Protection: Informatica Axon and EDC, BigID Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, we prefer candidates with: 3+ years of programming solution development experience using agile, DevOps, product model that includes designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications or data engineering solutions 3+ years of full-stack development experience, preferably in Azure 3+ years of cloud development and data lake experience (preferably Microsoft Azure), including Azure EventHub, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, ADX, ASA, Azure Databricks, Azure DevOps, Azure Mass Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Applications, and Power BI Aircraft industry experience Skills, Licenses, and Certifications To be successful in this role, you will need: Proficiency with the Azure Technology stack for data management, data ingestion, capture, processing, curation, and consumption layers Ability to provide practical guidance within the Azure Native cloud services Azure Development Track Certification (preferred) Flash Certification (preferred) What You'll Get At American Airlines, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes: Medical benefits: On day one, you'll have access to your health, dental, prescription, and vision benefits to help you stay healthy.
