Senior Developer - Tableau

Job purpose The main responsibility of this role will be to play a key part in our expanding Tableau and Alteryx initiatives and other projects that will leverage technology to drive internal business process optimization and improve data-driven decision making. Additional responsibilities of this role will be to collaborate with the user community to design, develop, and implement dashboards and reporting solutions across multiple business functions that positively impact the bottom line. These tasks and other business process optimization projects will ultimately drive business value and improve user productivity. This role will also play an important part in supporting the day-to-day user activity and critical business processes. Duties and responsibilities • Design, develop, and implement Tableau dashboards and reporting solutions. • Assist in maintaining/updating existing Tableau content, leveraging multiple data sets in creating new content. • Creating and updating Tableau data sources. • Tableau site support, including user and group management, permissions, job monitoring, etc. • Collaborate with the user community to design, develop, and implement technology solutions across multiple business functions that positively impact the bottom line. This includes identifying data needs, facilitating ETL process requirements, developing data sources and building reports and dashboards. • Provide user support for Production issues. • Develop, enhance, and leverage your leadership and project management skills by participating on large, medium, or small project teams focused on delivering business solutions leveraging technology. • Keep current on new technologies and personal productivity tools. Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or related field of study • 6+ years of experience in data analysis and dashboard development in Tableau is required. • Tableau Desktop Certification is a plus. • Experience with Alteryx is highly desired, but not required. • Experience creating and updating data sources. • Experience with SQL as well as relational database technologies (MS SQL Server, Snowflake, BigQuery) is required. • Experience in Tableau site management, Tableau viz samples is a plus. • Working knowledge of ERP business concepts. • Professional written and oral communication skills. • Ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment and demonstrate high ethical standards. • Quick learner with strong analytical, problem-solving skills. • Effective time & work management skills with an awareness of system development lifecycle, project planning and organization, project control and contingency planning skills. • Demonstrates high levels of self-motivation and initiative and is comfortable in a fast paced, get it done environment. Working conditions • Minimal travel requirements as needed for business purposes • Work assignments may be completed remotely • Off-hour support may be necessary on either a regular or ad hoc basis. This may include evenings, overnight and weekends.
