As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for providing engineering support for the maintenance and operation of aircraft and related equipment. You will also establish and maintain aircraft and part standards within areas of responsibility, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company manuals. Key Responsibilities Conduct training for specialists in areas of expertise, enhancing their technical capabilities and ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest practices and technologies. Act as a guide to other engineers, providing mentorship and support in complex technical matters and project execution. Lead or facilitate project management or issue resolution teams, leveraging your technical expertise and leadership skills to drive projects forward and resolve critical issues. Coordinate with manufacturers and regulatory specialists to validate engineering practices according to relevant guidelines and company manuals. Develop customized procedures and special instructions for repairs, modifications, inspections, and other maintenance activities not adequately addressed in existing manuals. Stay informed about daily carrier operations, including areas of liability, and review daily needs according to aircraft/departmental targets and management mandates. Investigate aircraft/part issues that may cause delays or cancellations, significant expenses, or breaks in maintenance activities, and determine appropriate corrective actions. Provide engineering support to restore workable status to discrepant circumstances affecting aircraft or parts. Respond to demands from Maintenance and other carrier divisions when technical support is needed to aid operations or resolve issues. Develop action plans for fleet/multi-fleet and part engineering tasks and pursue detailed attitudes according to assessed needs. Coordinate with other aircraft divisions to facilitate effective and efficient execution of engineering practices. Prepare engineering documents to implement technical practices by providing customized procedures for repairs, modifications, inspections, or other maintenance activities. Maintain knowledge of current and forthcoming regulations affecting areas of responsibility and ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements. Utilize available resources to build levels of technical mastery and practical experience continually. Actively engage with frontline colleagues and management alike, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. All You'll Need for Success Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field or related Engineering license. A&P license, demonstrating your technical competence in aircraft maintenance. At least 1 year of designing experience in a connected field with a degree, or 2 years of experience without a degree. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Ability to analyze technical data and make informed decisions. Demonstrated fitness, capacity, and willingness to take on new roles and responsibilities. Capability to prepare and deliver presentations that promote the acceptance of solutions. Ability to connect with internal and external clients effectively. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree or certifications in a relevant engineering discipline. Experience with project management tools and methodologies. Knowledge of aviation regulations and standards (e.g., FAA regulations). Previous experience in a leadership or mentorship role within an engineering context.
