Role Overview As a Senior Engineer - Cybersecurity Threat Detection and Mitigation Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced cybersecurity solutions to detect and prevent threats in real-time. You will work closely with our team of engineers and analysts to identify vulnerabilities, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure the security and integrity of our systems. Your expertise will be instrumental in protecting our clients and their customers from cyber threats, fraud, and abuse. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement advanced cybersecurity solutions to detect and prevent threats in real-time Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies Develop and maintain expertise in threat detection and mitigation technologies, including machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data analytics Work with large datasets to identify patterns and anomalies, and develop predictive models to detect potential threats Develop and maintain software applications to support threat detection and mitigation efforts Collaborate with incident response teams to respond to and contain security incidents Stay up-to-date with emerging threats and technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our cybersecurity posture Participate in code reviews, ensure high-quality code, and contribute to the improvement of our engineering practices Essential Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you should have: A four-year degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field At least 3+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, threat detection, or a related field Experience working with programming languages such as Kotlin, Java, or equivalent Experience with Spring Boot framework, Kafka, SQL/NoSQL databases, and application development Experience working with Business Rules Engine Management systems like Drools Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment Preferred Qualifications: While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience with UI development using React or other front-end frameworks Experience with near real-time systems and streaming data processing Knowledge of cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Azure Experience with containerization using Docker or Kubernetes Certifications in cybersecurity, such as CompTIA Security+ or CISSP Skills and Competencies: To excel in this role, you should possess: Strong programming skills in languages such as Kotlin, Java, or equivalent Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results Career Growth Opportunities: At Workwarp, we're committed to the growth and development of our employees.
