About the Role As a Senior Full Stack Web Engineer at blithequark, you will play a critical role in delivering digital life insurance solutions that drive sales and support new business and underwriting applications. With a deep understanding of life insurance full-stack web engineering, you will lead our teams in developing and supporting innovative applications, leveraging your expertise in infrastructure, application, integration, data, and security technology. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and deploy large-scale public-facing e-commerce web applications, focusing on front-end UI and back-end Java development Lead the development of new business and underwriting applications, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and infrastructure Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, leveraging agile delivery methods and enterprise systems thinking Develop comprehensive architecture documents, including application and infrastructure design documents, to support our technology strategy Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing your expertise and experience to foster a culture of innovation and excellence Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, applying this knowledge to drive continuous improvement and innovation Qualifications and Requirements To succeed in this role, you will need: 7+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on full-stack web development 5+ years of experience in large-scale public-facing e-commerce web development (front-end UI) 2+ years of Java development (back-end) experience 5+ years of experience delivering software using agile delivery methods Comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure, applications, integration, design patterns, database, agile delivery methods, build and deployment processes, software development, and systems engineering Ability to develop a wide range of architecture documents, including application and infrastructure design documents Enterprise systems thinking, with the ability to see how individual systems and applications interact with the enterprise (big picture thinking) Preferred Qualifications Experience working in the life insurance industry, with a deep understanding of digital life insurance solutions Knowledge of cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Azure Experience with DevOps tools, such as Jenkins or Docker Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess: Strong technical skills, with expertise in Java, front-end UI development, and infrastructure Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and support junior team members Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams A passion for innovation and continuous learning, with a commitment to staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies Career Growth and Learning Opportunities At blithequark, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our employees.
