Schedule: 9am till 6pm (Monday through Fri) Overtime is paid but only required on certain days of the month. NOT A REMOTE POSITION. Salary: $65,000-$70,000 About Us Avita Property Management is a dynamic and growing real estate management firm based in Austin, TX. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our clients and maintaining the highest standards in property management. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Property Accountant to join our finance team. Position Overview Senior Property Accountant will assist in managing the financial operations of our property portfolio. This role involves supporting the Accounting team with day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining the financial health of our properties. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a passion for real estate accounting. Key Responsibilities • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process and manage invoices, payments, and receipts related to property operations. Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors and collection of rent. • Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are resolved. • General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the general ledger by recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy in financial statements. • Financial Reporting: Prepare and assist in the preparation of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for individual properties and the overall portfolio. • Lease Administration: Review and verify lease agreements, ensuring accurate billing and compliance with lease terms. • Property Management Systems: Utilize property management software / ERP (Fortress / Sage) to track financial transactions, generate reports, and maintain up-to-date records. Experience with Sage is preferred but not required; training will be provided. • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements. Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation and records. • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information. Qualifications • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. • Experience: 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in property management or real estate accounting. Internship experience will be considered. Skills: • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Knowledge: Basic understanding of accounting principles and real estate management. • Need to be local around the San Antonio Area Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Sage accounting software is preferred but not required. • Training on Sage will be provided. • Knowledge of property management practices and lease agreements.
