Our Identity Engineering Corporation is at the forefront of delivering cutting-edge Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) capabilities across the Walt Disney Company, including Disney+, ESPN, Hulu, Parks, and Cruises. As a Senior Staff Software Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-traffic and globally replicated systems that power the Disney ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership: Identify, define, and refine best practices for the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of stateful microservices and lambdas in a multi-region cloud environment. Agile Methodologies: Promote and facilitate Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and Scrumban, by leading regular ceremonies such as stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint planning. Mentorship and Guidance: Offer technical guidance to engineering leaders and their teams to enhance their technical ability and build their understanding of the products and platforms we're responsible for. Collaboration and Solutioning: Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA, operations, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and articulate technical solutions and architectures. Essential Qualifications Technical Skills: Proficiency in one of the following Java Virtual Machine (JVM) languages: Java, Scala, or Kotlin. Cloud Experience: Experience with at least one of the following cloud providers: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Compute (GCP), or Microsoft Azure. Data Processing: Experience with Spark, Hive, or Presto. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Structures, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience. Preferred Qualifications Scala Programming: Familiarity with the Scala programming language and popular frameworks such as Cats, Cats Effect, ZIO, and Http4s. Programming Paradigms: Familiarity with both Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Functional Programming (FP) best practices. Infrastructure as Code: Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices. Python and Machine Learning: Familiarity with the Python programming language applied to Spark and machine learning. Databricks and Apache Airflow: Familiarity with Databricks and Apache Airflow products.
