Session Monitor / Watcher Operator (Windows – Part-Time, Hourly)
We are seeking a reliable individual to operate and monitor two instances of our internal application, referred to as the “Watcher.” Each Watcher runs on its own dedicated Windows computer. This role is operational in nature and does not require software development skills, but it does require attentiveness, basic technical comfort, and strong communication. The primary responsibility is to run, monitor, and manage Watcher sessions during scheduled time windows, ensuring they remain active and reporting any issues in real time. Responsibilities - Launch and run the Watcher executable on two separate Windows machines - Actively monitor each Watcher session while it is running - Restart the Watcher if it stops, freezes, or encounters issues - Communicate issues promptly to our DevOps team (via chat/email) - Observe and report any abnormal behavior or errors during sessions - Properly shut down the Watcher at the end of each session - Maintain reliability and availability during scheduled session times Schedule & Time Commitment Most weeks: - Sessions occur Mondays and Thursdays - Each session lasts approximately 1–5 hours (may occasionally run longer) Peak periods (twice per year): May and August or September - Sessions may occur daily - Session length ranges from 1 to 8+ hours This role requires flexibility during active sessions but does not require availability outside of scheduled times.
