Job Description Summary Pismo's Platform squad is responsible for maintaining the life-cycle (bootstrap, maintenance and decommission) the following domains: Container orchestration (through Kubernetes), Cloud Architecture and Networking (Cloud and On-premise). What you'll do The engineer will support the Kubernetes and Service Mesh (Istio) lifecycle within the platform squad by: Creating and/or enhancing mechanisms to bootstrap Observe (monitoring) Maintain (including upgrades) Decommission these resources using infrastructure-as-code and cloud-native best practices across several clusters. This is a remote position. A remote position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice. #LI-Remote Qualifications Basic Qualifications 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience. The candidate must possess strong expertise in Kubernetes and Service Mesh (ideally, Istio), with proven experience supporting both day-to-day operations and business-driven initiatives. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing cloud-native infrastructure, with all tasks executed through Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)—preferably using Terraform—and aligned with GitOps methodologies within a fully automated CI/CD pipeline. A solid foundation in English communication is essential, as the role involves regular collaboration with team members located outside Brazil.
