Southwest Territory Sales Manager - Outside Sales

Houston's Inc. is currently hiring for a Territory Sales Manager to join our outside sales team. Location and territory: • The employee will need to be located in the state of California, within a reasonable distance from a metropolitan area. • The territory for the position will be California, Nevada, Arizona and Hawaii. Compensation: • Up to $120,000 annual salary, Depending On Experience • Multitiered sales bonus program. (Details provided during the interview process) Benefits: • Employer-paid medical insurance for employee-only • Employer-paid Life Insurance, LTD, and EAP for employee-only • Paid sick time, Vacation, and Holiday • 401k with matching up to 6% (100% on the first 3%, 50% on the next 3%) Position Purpose: The Regional Territory Manager is responsible for promoting and profitably selling products and services while enhancing the company’s reputation as a trusted partner. This role focuses on building strong, lasting relationships with customers and vendors, providing consultative guidance to address distribution and operational challenges, and delivering solutions that drive mutual growth. The Regional Territory Manager acts as a strategic advisor, combining industry knowledge with a customer-first approach to support business expansion and long-term success. Functions or Duties: • Identify and develop potential new customers and build new business utilizing all available resources • Maintain high level sales and service to existing customer base while building profitable future growth • Independently plan and manage travel throughout assigned territory, organizing sales calls in advance with clear objectives and measurable outcomes. • Inform customers of new vendor lines, new products, current promos and campaigns or other relevant topics • Professionally represent multiple competing brands with an unbiased, solutions-oriented approach, collaborating with vendor partners to support customer success and market growth. • Review customer sales performance by vendor, identify opportunities for cross-brand expansion, and follow up on commitments, pricing agreements, and contract negotiations as needed. • Employ consultative sales tactics to identify customer challenges or need for assistance and find ways to apply our services as a solution and strengthen long-term partnerships. • Cultivate strong business relationships with local vendor representatives and distribution partners to enhance market presence and service capabilities. • Work closely with Inside Sales, Marketing, and the Sales Director to coordinate strategies, share market intelligence, and ensure a cohesive “full circle” communication approach. • Support marketing initiatives by promoting campaigns, providing market feedback, and ensuring consistent salesforce updates. • Utilize Salesforce CRM to manage leads, document all customer interactions, track sales performance, and analyze territory growth against established goals. • Monitor and report key performance metrics, ensuring accountability to company standards and continuous improvement. • Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both written and verbal • Exceptional customer service skills • Math skills, including familiarity with margins • Knowledge of foodservice and coffee industry trends, product categories, and regulatory requirements • Proficient experience using a CRM software program (such as Salesfore.com) desirable • Well defined organizational and multitasking skills • Basic Technology Skills • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Education and Experience: • College degree required • Minimum three years Sales background in coffee or foodservice distribution industries, or equivalent experience required. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. • While performing the duties, this position is frequently required to: • Stand or sit for long periods of time. • Look at a computer screen and use hands and fingers for keyboard and mouse with fine dexterity and repetitive motion. • Lift up to 30 lbs occasionally • Utilize close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. • The work involves performing complex tasks with very close accuracy and quality. • Must be able to pass a non-THC drug test and background check, and motor vehicle record check.
