Position Summary: The Senior Manager, Records and Information Governance is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing firm-wide strategies for records management and information governance. This role ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, and operational requirements while driving efficiency, security, and digital transformation initiatives across the organization. Strategic Impact: This position plays a critical role in safeguarding the firm’s reputation and mitigating risk by ensuring compliance with client, regulatory, and ethical obligations. The Senior Manager will lead initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs associated with physical storage, and support the firm’s digital transformation goals. By aligning information governance with business objectives, this role strengthens client trust, improves audit readiness, and positions the firm for long-term success in an increasingly data-driven environment. Key Responsibilities: • Collaborate with leadership, Office of General Counsel (OGC), IT, Administration, and internal RIM task force to develop and enforce firm-wide records management policies and procedures. • Manage the lifecycle of legal records, including retention, disposition, and archiving through automated records management systems. • Ensure integrity and functionality of automated records management platforms, including upgrades and integration with other systems. • Oversee matter mobility processes, ensuring seamless transition of electronic and physical records during lateral attorney onboarding and departures, delivering a “white glove” experience. • Identify and resolve inefficiencies in active and closed matter file management processes. • Coordinate offsite storage and vendor relationships, including destruction projects. • Lead digital transformation initiatives, including document management system upgrades and file migrations. • Manage active space planning related to office moves, upfits, and lease updates. • Promote and implement paperless office strategies. • Collaborate with IT, legal, and administrative teams to support eDiscovery and audit readiness. • Supervise records staff and deliver training on best practices across departments. • Maintain confidentiality and security protocols for sensitive information. • Monitor industry trends and recommend improvements to records governance strategy. #LI-LM1 #LI-Remote Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred). • 6-8 years of progressive experience in records management, information governance, or related discipline, preferably in a legal or professional services environment. • Strong knowledge of records lifecycle management, compliance standards, and digital transformation strategies. • Proficiency in managing and implementing Automated Records Management Systems. • Experience in policy and procedure writing. • Highly developed analytical skills, with proven ability to work accurately, show good judgement, organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. • Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral, and effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to build productive networks and negotiate confidently and diplomatically. • Proven ability to lead teams, manage change, and influence stakeholders at all levels. Preferred Skills: • CRM or IGP certification. • Familiarity with eDiscovery processes and audit compliance. • Ability to manage change and drive adoption of new technologies. • FileTrail and NetDocs experience (or similar automation. For Pennsylvania & Illinois, the expected salary range for this position is between $149,000 and $164,000. This position is also eligible for annual bonuses. Note – only include the bonus sentence if the position is eligible for a bonus. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
