About the position This is a Senior Software Engineer position on the Crowdstrike MRC Platform team. The Platform team's Software Engineers build tools, background services & API based micro-services enabling better threat analysis, identification & detections in Falcon. These systems also support other teams & systems within the Research & Development and Data Science organizations. The software engineer is expected to be able to coordinate with leadership, plan, and oversee execution of projects to help improve the product. This role focuses on independent execution, problem solving and demonstration of passion towards engineering excellence. Responsibilities • Build tools, background services & API based micro-services for threat analysis and detection. • Coordinate with leadership and oversee execution of projects. • Improve product capabilities based on threat landscape. • Work across the organization to understand requirements and prioritize them. • Scale backend systems and address scalability challenges. Requirements • Experience in one or more high level programming languages (Python, Go, Rust, etc.) • Strong understanding and experience with AWS and associated technologies. • Strong understanding and experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), for example Ansible, Pulumi, or Terraform. • Solid understanding of object oriented programming. • Experience with automating workflows & building pipelines with micro-services & APIs. • Experience in working with relational and non-relational/NoSQL databases technologies like MySQL, Cassandra, ElasticSearch etc. • A solid background in software engineering including good coding standards, source control, documentation of design, issue tracking. • Ability to work across the organization to understand requirements and communicate priorities. • Deep understanding of distributed systems and scalability challenges. • Excellent problem solving abilities in a distributed computing environment. • A good working knowledge of Linux. Nice-to-haves • Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK. • Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems. • Experience in user interface design and UI technologies (AngularJS, ReactJS). • Knowledge of security best practices in the context of micro services deployments. • Familiarity with Kanban development concepts.
