Tax Preparer (Independent Contractor) – Bring Your Own Clients

Total Financial Management 517 is expanding and seeking experienced to mid-level tax preparers with an established client base who want a more supportive, compliant, and profitable partnership this tax season. At TFM517, your clients remain your clients we will never attempt to solicit, take over, or redirect your book of business. Position Type: Independent Contractor Schedule: Seasonal (flexible hours) Compensation Options: • Keep all your prep fee-NO SPLIT • Prior-year returns = NO CHARGE • Back-end fee $140 • Bonus for 40+ funded returns paid at the end of April Requirements: • Established clientele (required) • Valid PTIN in good standing • Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP) status, must be completed OR willing to complete by December 31st • Must be available for weekly training sessions throughout January • No felonies involving fraud, theft, or financial misconduct (must submit to a background check) • Ability to work independently with limited supervision • At TFM 517 discretion some files maybe will be reviewed before submission for compliance and accuracy • Professional communication, organization, and client confidentiality skills Experience to Highlight in Cover Letter: • Individual tax returns (1040) • Schedule C / Small business • Partnerships & Corporations (1065, 1120-S, 1120) • Rental real estate / Airbnb • Industry niche (beauty professionals, trucking, healthcare, creatives, etc.) • Tax software you work with: TaxSlayer, OLT, Drake Training & Support Provided: • IRS Circular 230 compliance standards • EITC/ACTC/CTC/HOH due diligence requirements • TFM517 workflow & review process • Secure document handling & client communication expectations Training is weekly in January to ensure consistency and compliance.
