Join Our Team: Administrative Assistant I (Tutoring) at Rock Valley College Rock Valley College is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant I to support our Tutoring Center. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional administrative support, ensuring the smooth operation of our tutoring programs and delivering outstanding customer service to students, faculty, and staff. Key Responsibilities Provide clerical support for the Tutoring Center, including greeting patrons, answering phones, and scheduling tutoring appointments. Maintain accurate knowledge of resources and respond to questions from stakeholders. Assist in facilitating regular functions of the Tutoring Center, including assigning projects to tutors and coordinating tutoring programs under CRLA guidelines. Manage textbook collection, tutor binders, and bins, ensuring they remain current and organized. Coordinate Tutoring Center activities during day and evening hours, including updating information into computer programs and securing the area at the end of the day. Order and maintain office and departmental supplies. Compile and input data into software, create reports, and verify totals on report forms. Assist with data management and processing of program assessments. Oversee completion, collection, and distribution of mid-program and end-of-program reports and surveys. Prepare, submit, and process receipts, vouchers, travel forms, and conference expense forms. Track and manage purchasing process. Establish and maintain effective relationships with persons contacted in the course of work. Attend meetings as needed. Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you must possess: College or technical school coursework in keyboarding, document formatting, and advanced application skills, or equivalent experience. Three to six months of related experience and/or training as an administrative assistant or office assistant. Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one or small group situations. Basic math skills necessary for job responsibilities. Proficient in using multiple methods of technology for communication, including Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and database entry. Ability to learn and use College's administrative software system. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working in an educational setting or tutoring center. Knowledge of CRLA guidelines and tutoring program management. Strong organizational and time management skills.
