The successful candidate will be part of our dynamic legal team, working closely with our clients to provide expert legal advice and representation in all matters related to insurance defense. Key Responsibilities: As an Associate Attorney with our firm, you will be responsible for: Representing clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in civil litigation Advising clients concerning business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses Preparing and drafting legal documents, such as wills, deeds, patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts Gathering evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case Negotiating settlements of civil disputes Performing administrative and management functions related to the practice of law Acting as agent, trustee, guardian, or executor for businesses or individuals Presenting and summarizing cases to judges and juries Evaluating findings and developing strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases Supervising legal assistants Essential Qualifications: To be considered for this role, you must have: A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school Active membership in good standing with the Florida State Bar A minimum of 4+ years of experience in insurance defense litigation, specifically in PIP, premises liability, and first/third-party claims Proven experience in personal injury protection (PIP), premises liability, first/third-party claims, and litigation Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, capable of maintaining professional demeanor in high-stress situations Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and cases Excellent negotiation skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient in legal research and writing Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite and legal research platforms Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong commitment to client service and demonstrated ability to manage and build client relationships High level of professionalism and ethical standards Willingness to continue learning and improving lawyering skills Ability to travel as necessary Preferred Qualifications: We would also prefer candidates with: Experience in handling complex insurance defense cases Familiarity with Florida law and regulations Experience working in a hybrid or remote work environment What We Offer: In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer: A competitive salary range of $100,000 - $175,000 per year Full benefits package Bonus pay based on performance Opportunities for growth, mentoring, and advancement Flexible work arrangements, including remote work options A dynamic and supportive work environment Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: We are committed to the professional growth and development of our attorneys.
