Book Cover Designer
Are you a creative, marketing-savvy individual with experience designing non-fiction book covers of all different shapes, sizes, and genres? Do you have a passion for typography and enjoy working in Adobe Creative Suite? That’s a good start! We’re looking for someone easy to work with and who works efficiently yet collaboratively. Plus, you can work from anywhere in the US! What we’re looking for in this role: • Access to and experience with utilizing a wide variety of font types and styles • A consistently updated font library • Proficient use of Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator) • Previous experience designing non-fiction book covers • Knowledge of current design trends and typography uses • Strong attention to detail • Ability to apply requests and specifications from the client to create three distinct, polished, and creatively unique cover comps, then perform design revisions, as needed • Adept understanding and experience with typography to include key concepts like: • Spacing • Contrast • Creative Use • Branding • Color Usage • Alignment • Hierarchy • Cohesiveness This is a contract position. If possible, submit at least 3 examples of NON-FICTION book covers you’ve designed (e-book is okay but books that went to both print and e-book are better). If you do not have nonfiction book cover examples, send your absolute best design work plus any fiction book covers you’ve done, and we will consider it.
