Communications Associate
The Wayfinder Group is seeking a Communications Associate to enhance its public relations and marketing efforts. The role involves creating corporate communications, drafting press materials, and managing digital and traditional ad campaigns while collaborating with clients and stakeholders. Responsibilities Create and design internal and external corporate communications Draft and distribute media advisories, press releases and media statements Pitch local media and monitor coverage of clients and topics Develop strategic messaging and content for clients, including but not limited to: speeches, memos, editorials and presentations Build, execute and track digital and traditional ad campaigns Project management to ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget Assist with administrative tasks as needed Skills Strong communications skills 1-3 years of experience in a communications, marketing, or similar role Demonstrated experience working on projects with public and private entities to achieve communications goals Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism or related field Minimum of 1 years directly related work experience Ability to juggle multiple projects while completing deliverables and tasks on time and on budget Strong customer service orientation with colleagues and clients Knowledge of Hawaii's news media and digital and traditional communications technologies Highly developed written and verbal communication skills Excellent listening skills and ability to understand the needs and drivers of others to enable opportunities to achieve shared outcomes Have a breadth of knowledge or interest in learning various industries, including health care, development, and energy Manage and maintain the organization's digital filing system within SharePoint to ensure easy access and retrieval Working knowledge of various media platforms Proficient in Graphic Design software (i.e. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator) Skilled in Microsoft Suite (i.e. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, etc.) Demonstrate experience utilizing media monitoring systems (i.e. Critical Mention, Muckrack) and newsletter distribution platforms (e.g. Constant Contact or MailChimp) Benefits 100% coverage of health, dental, vision, life and accidental insurance 401k Match Competitive paid leave Company Overview The Wayfinder Group (WFGRP) is a strategic advisory firm with offices in Hawaii and Washington D.C.
