About the Role: After School Dance Instructor We are seeking an energetic and charismatic dance instructor to lead our after-school dance programs for children aged 5-12. As an After School Dance Instructor at blithequark, you will have the opportunity to inspire and motivate young dancers, helping them to develop their skills, build their confidence, and foster a lifelong love of dance. With a focus on beginner-level instruction, you will create engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of our students. Key Responsibilities: Plan and implement engaging dance lessons for children aged 5-12, with a focus on beginner level instruction Execute recreational dances and create a positive and inclusive class environment that allows kids to feel valued and supported Teach dance techniques, choreography, and coordination skills while encouraging creativity and self-expression Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during dance classes Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and program activities Essential Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: A strong passion for dance and a desire to inspire young dancers Knowledge of different dance styles (Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, etc.) Experience teaching dance to kids is highly desirable, but not essential Ability to create fun, engaging, and age-appropriate lesson plans Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide positive feedback Energetic, patient, and knowledgeable on how to motivate and encourage young dancers Preferred Qualifications: While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: A degree in dance, education, or a related field Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting First aid and CPR certification Ability to speak multiple languages Skills and Competencies: To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong dance technique and knowledge of various dance styles Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities Commitment to providing high-quality instruction and customer service Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At blithequark, we are committed to the ongoing development and growth of our staff.
