Key Responsibilities Transport customer dry van freight safely and efficiently across various regions, including the Midwest, Texas, Northeast, and Southeast. Operate state-of-the-art, late-model tractors and trailers equipped with APUs, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. Manage your route and schedule to meet delivery deadlines, minimizing delays and maximizing productivity. Maintain accurate records and logs, adhering to hours of service regulations and company requirements. Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues that may arise. Participate in ongoing training and development to stay up-to-date on industry best practices, safety protocols, and company procedures. Essential and Preferred Qualifications To succeed as a CDL A long haul driver with J&R Schugel Logistics, you'll need: A valid CDL A license with a clean driving record. A minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience driving a Class A tractor-trailer. A strong safety record, with a focus on defensive driving and accident prevention. Excellent communication and time management skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. A positive, proactive attitude and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Preferred qualifications include: Experience with refrigerated or dry van freight. Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and electronic logging devices (ELDs). A history of safe and efficient driving practices. Military experience or other relevant background.
