We focus on helping United States public sector institutions accelerate their digital transformations, and we continue to make significant investments and grow our team to meet the complex needs of local, state, and federal government and educational institutions. **Responsibilities** As a Customer Engineer III, Application Modernization, you will be responsible for: * Working with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers. * Sharing in-depth enterprise infrastructure and cloud modernization expertise to support the technical relationship with customers, including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partnering directly with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud. * Guiding customers through assessments of their existing legacy application environment(s), providing recommendations on a prioritization roadmap for application modernization, and identifying opportunities for migration to hybrid-cloud computing models. * Structuring and executing prototyping workshops to prove out proposed architectures, developing best practices, and documenting blocking requirements for prioritization with engineering. * Traveling to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required, acting as a public advocate for Google Cloud. **Requirements** To be successful in this role, you will need: * A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. * 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture and development methodologies, including modernizing legacy applications and application performance profiling and tuning, in a customer-facing or support role. * Experience with architectural design patterns, platform engineering (e.g., Infrastructure-as-Code, automation, image management or repository management), virtualization deployments, container deployments, application security, or networking. * Experience in, or supporting state or local government clients. * Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders. **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience with developing scalable architectures using API management, microservice frameworks, and PaaS. * Experience with one or more programming languages. * Exposure to the software development lifecycle. **What We Offer** As a Customer Engineer III, Application Modernization, at blithequark Public Sector, you will enjoy: * A competitive base salary range of $142,000-$214,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. * Opportunities to work with a diverse team of talented professionals in a dynamic and inclusive environment. * A comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off. * Professional development opportunities, including training, mentorship, and career growth. * A chance to make a real impact on the lives of government agencies, educational institutions, and other organizations through the power of Google Cloud. **How to Apply** If you are a motivated and experienced professional with a passion for cloud computing and customer-facing work, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
