The Data Engineering team within blithequark collaborates closely with various stakeholders on development and sustainment projects, ad-hoc requests, prototyping, and research initiatives by providing data pipeline and database engineering services. As a Data Engineer, you will be integral to the development and maintenance of products for our Media business, engaging in a variety of data engineering activities. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain data acquisition processes, data validation processes, ETL/ELT data pipelines, and overall process alerting methodologies. Engage in data requirements gathering, source-to-target mapping, data validation scripting and review, data visualization, creating and monitoring ETL/ELT data pipelines. Design and execute database schema/tables/views and deliver datasets as input to science models and visualizations. Utilize technologies such as SQL (primarily Snowflake and PostgreSQL), Python, Docker, GitLab, and Airflow to fulfill job requirements. Work in a multi-environment setting (Dev, QA, Prod, etc.) and adhere to DEVOP practices for code deployment/development. Create and maintain automated job schedulers, ensuring seamless data pipeline operations. Demonstrate a strong understanding of relational database design and functionality. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must possess: A Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and support. Proven knowledge and expertise using Python and SQL, ideally with Snowflake. Experience with developing in a multi-environment setting and DEVOP practices for code deployment/development. Experience creating and maintaining automated job schedulers. A strong understanding of relational database design and functionality. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following qualifications will set you apart: Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, ideally cloud-based, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar. Proficiency in cloud architecture and product offerings, ideally AWS. Experience managing and deploying code using a source control product like GitLab/GitHub. Experience using Docker.
