Job Overview arenaflex is seeking an accomplished, compassionate, and quality-centered Data Engineering Manager to lead the development of large-scale data applications and pipelines within the Data Analysis team. As a critical member of this team, you will drive the advancement of arenaflex's data engineering endeavors, working closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge data systems. This is a full-time remote position, offering a competitive salary of $26 per hour and the opportunity to work with a global team of experts. Key Responsibilities Lead the development, quality, and integrity of data pipelines, ensuring the delivery of high-quality data to various engineering teams within arenaflex Drive the design, development, and deployment of large-scale data applications and pipelines, leveraging expertise in data engineering tools, systems, and methodologies Mentor and guide a team of experienced engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineering, product development, and data science, to drive business outcomes and deliver exceptional customer experiences Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement within arenaflex Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a strong foundation in software engineering, data structures, and algorithms Master-level experience in data engineering tools and systems, including languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, Scala, Swift, or Objective C Experience with at least one of the following platforms: HDFS, Yarn, Spark, Impala, Kafka, HBase, MapReduce, Kubernetes, or Item Store Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment A proven track record of driving high-performance software teams, with a strong sense of pride in the development cycle and a willingness to drive continuous improvement Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a focus on data engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline Experience with cloud-based data platforms, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data security principles, with experience implementing data management best practices Familiarity with agile development methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban, and experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with experience guiding teams of engineers and driving technical vision and strategy Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we're committed to the growth and development of our employees.
