About the Role As an Elementary Math Tutor with blithequark, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and families in your community. You will work one-on-one with students in the comfort of their own homes, providing personalized instruction and support to help them overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals. Our ideal candidate is an experienced tutor and/or teacher who is able to adapt to different learning styles and has a strong passion for math education. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality, one-on-one math tutoring to elementary-level students in the Chattanooga, TN area, including Signal Mountain and Hixson Develop and implement personalized lesson plans to meet the unique needs and learning style of each student Effectively balance tutoring hours for each assigned student to ensure consistent progress and achievement Provide regular session reports to our office and families, detailing student progress and areas for improvement Respond to existing clients' concerns, questions, and requests in a professional and timely manner Follow up with our office when a student's enrollment package is low on hours to ensure seamless continuation of services Only service students whose needs align with your areas of expertise and qualifications Subjects and Areas of Focus We are seeking tutors who are experienced in teaching a range of math subjects, including but not limited to: Basic elementary math skills Entry-level geometry Pre-Algebra Homework Prep Test anxiety strategies Essential Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in the education field, with a focus on math education Minimum 2 years of experience in tutoring/teaching in specialized education fields, such as math or elementary education Credentialed tutors and/or graduate degrees are highly valued but not required Experience with basic database/data entry and strong administration skills Ability to prepare accordingly for each tutoring session, including developing lesson plans and materials Strong typing, PC, and recording skills, as well as reliable transportation and current car insurance Access to the internet, a computer, and a smartphone Preferred Qualifications Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles Strong knowledge of elementary-level math curricula and standards Ability to adapt to different learning environments and technologies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a range of skills and competencies, including: Strong math knowledge and pedagogy Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to different learning styles and environments Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to supporting the ongoing growth and development of our tutors.
