Job Overview We are seeking a talented and motivated IT Application Analyst to lead the development, implementation, and delivery of critical data solutions. Key Responsibilities Supervise the design work of other specialists on the project, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Design, develop, and deploy scalable and efficient data solutions that meet business requirements and drive growth. Ensure the quality, reliability, and security of data solutions through thorough testing, monitoring, and optimization. Build and deliver high-quality data architecture and pipelines to support business reporting requirements. Monitor data pipelines and proactively identify and resolve any performance or reliability issues. Ensure data quality and reliability by implementing data validation, error handling, and data cleansing strategies. Collaborate with different teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources, including CSV, Excel, email attachments, SmartSheet, and more. Work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and operational teams to understand business requirements and deliver against high operational standards of system availability and reliability. Develop and optimize software to extend system, application, or tool functionality to improve business processes and meet end-user needs while working within the overall system architecture. Analyze and resolve operational issues, perform detailed root cause analysis, and propose ideas for improvements. Document data design processes, workflows, and best practices to ensure data sharing and maintain a robust data repository. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline. Experience providing oversight to data design projects, with a strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines. Demonstrated expertise with building, developing, maintaining, and optimizing scalable database systems, including data modeling, data warehousing, and building reporting solutions. Broad experience with AWS, including hands-on experience with AWS services such as RDS, Amazon Workmail, Amazon SES, S3, Lambda, Redshift, SQS, IAM, VPC, and infrastructure setup and related components. Experience working with modern data structures, Lambda architecture models, and proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL. Knowledge and experience with Open Source Data Technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Hbase, Pig, Spark, etc.). 2+ years of development experience in Python, Ruby, Scala, or other platform-related big data technologies. Knowledge of professional programming practices and best practices for the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and deployment. Experience building reporting systems like QuickSight, PowerBI, or others, and data warehouse reporting systems for Business Intelligence (any technology). Experience with responsive design and UI development for data entry systems (write-back reporting systems). Preferred Qualifications Experience with SmartSheet, Asana, HoneyCode, or Powerapp. Javascript and/or React JS knowledge/experience. Industry experience as a Data Engineer or related specialty (e.g., Developer, Business Intelligence Specialist, Data Scientist) with a history of driving, handling, and extracting value from large datasets. Experience building data products iteratively and integrating and managing datasets from multiple sources. Query execution tuning skills using Unix profiling tools and SQL. Experience leading large-scale data warehousing and analytics projects, including using AWS technologies - Redshift, S3, EC2, Data pipeline, and other big data technologies. Experience with non-relational databases/data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases).
