About the Instructional Aide Position We are seeking a talented and dedicated Instructional Aide to join our team at United Preparatory Academy - State St. As an Instructional Aide, you will have the unique opportunity to explore the field of education, gain hands-on practice, and receive the training necessary to become a successful full-time classroom teacher. You will work closely with experienced educators, observe best practices in classroom instruction, provide in-house substitute teaching coverage, co-teach with teacher-leaders, and support teachers with tutoring, grading, and individual or small-group instruction. Key Responsibilities Support teachers with lesson planning, instruction, and assessment Provide individual or small-group instruction to students who need extra support Observe and learn from experienced educators, and implement best practices in classroom instruction Co-teach with teacher-leaders and provide in-house substitute teaching coverage Assist with tutoring, grading, and other instructional tasks as needed Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues Use data-driven instructional practices and techniques outlined in Teach Like a Champion 3.0 to improve student outcomes Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have: A high school diploma/GED and the ability to secure the appropriate teaching permit (Associate's degree preferred) Prior experience working in urban schools and/or communities (preferred) A strong commitment to using data-driven instructional practices and techniques to improve student outcomes Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Comfortability with Google products for effective communication and completion of job responsibilities Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working with students in an elementary school setting Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation Experience with instructional technology and educational software Bilingual or multilingual skills Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and competencies: Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At USN, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our team members.
