Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team on a PRN basis. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, you will be responsible for providing appropriate nursing care to our patients, under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Key Responsibilities As a Licensed Vocational Nurse - PRN, your key responsibilities will include: Providing nursing care to assigned patients, under the direction of a Registered Nurse Administering oral and IV medications as prescribed Charting patient information in a timely and accurate manner Reviewing and updating care plans as necessary Taking and recording vital signs Providing ostomy care and monitoring patients for changes in medical condition Notifying physicians of changes in patient condition Changing wound dressings and collecting specimens Inserting and caring for nasogastric tubes, urinary catheters, and other medical devices Providing tracheostomy and ventilator care Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans Assessing patient needs and reporting changes in patient status to the Registered Nurse and physician Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications: Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of Texas Current BLS certification One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred, but not required Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively express ideas and views Ability to read and write English, including medical terminology and abbreviations Clerical ability to document patient information accurately and completely Cognitive ability to implement the nursing process with patients of all ages and populations Organizational ability to complete nursing tasks in a timely and efficient manner Ability to motivate non-licensed staff in the performance of patient care Flexibility to adjust to changing conditions and the various details of the job Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Prior experience in emergency or critical care environments Comfort level working with vents, trachs, PICC lines, and other medical devices Two years of experience in direct patient care What We Offer At Post Acute Medical, we offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including: Generous paid benefit time Excellent insurance options Opportunities for professional growth and development through our Education Advancement Program A collaborative and supportive work environment Recognition and reward for outstanding performance Our Culture At Post Acute Medical, we are committed to creating a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and promotes equal opportunities for all employees.
