About the Role & Team We're seeking a talented Network Engineer II to join our Business Network Design Services (BNDS) team, a crucial part of Enterprise Technology that focuses on delivering network services to our business units. As a Network Engineer II, you'll collaborate with senior engineers and other technical teams to architect and implement large-scale data networks that maximize security, performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. This is a unique opportunity to work on complex network projects that support Disney's diverse business units, including filmed & TV production, media & broadcast, and content distribution. Key Responsibilities Consulting: Work closely with business unit technologists to understand their technical strategies, gather requirements, and translate these into technology solutions. This involves building relationships, planning, and critical thinking. Analysis & Proposals: Develop solution alternatives and present them to senior BNDS network resources and business units. This requires considering multiple aspects of design solutions, including technical, process, security, and ongoing support. Design: Prepare technical designs with guidance from senior resources, leveraging Disney's architecture & design standards. This includes direct participation in the design, engineering, and deployment of business unit network solutions and capabilities. Implementation: Utilize BNDS standards to prepare documentation for executing design plans, assist in overseeing 3rd party resources for on-time, on-budget implementation, and manage risk. New Technology Evaluation: Collaborate with BNDS peer and senior networking resources to evaluate innovative technology solutions, providing a practical and business unit-oriented perspective. What You'll Bring Technical experience in a large, complex enterprise environment (e.g., 30+ sites in multiple countries, 10-15k users or more). Ability to architect world-class, large-scale data networks that maximize security, performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. Collaborative approach to working with business units to rapidly develop and implement solutions. Experience in building and supporting enterprise LANs, MANs, WANs, VPNs, and remote access solutions. Strong understanding of routing protocols, current data center architectures, DNS/DHCP, IPAM, multicast, VRF, QoS, etc. Basic or intermediate programming skills in Python or other contemporary toolsets/languages. Essential Qualifications & Skills 3+ years in an enterprise environment operating 7x24 services to multiple business units, with a progression of responsibilities spanning network operations, implementation, design, and architecture. Working knowledge of LAN/MAN/WAN topologies & platforms, routing protocols, and telecommunication connectivity. Proven technical expertise in interfacing network devices and services in a multi-platform computer and network environment. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience. Preferred Qualifications Media/Entertainment/Video Distribution/Broadcast industry experience. Demonstrated ability to lead, coordinate, and manage complex projects. Data center and/or cloud network design experience. Experience with multiple vendor switching, routing, and security products. Effective communication skills for clear, concise, and consumable verbal and written communications. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits We offer a competitive compensation package that includes a salary range of $107,400 to $143,900 per year in New York, NY, depending on your experience and qualifications.
