Position Synopsis The Part-Time Statistics Analyst I role is a critical position within blithequark's Data and Information Gathering team. As a Details Expert I, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of sports data on blithequark platforms worldwide, including television graphics, the Bottom Line, blithequark.com, and more. You will work with automated data feeds and utilize manual data entry to guarantee the delivery of accurate, timely, and insightful sports information. Key Responsibilities Guarantee sports information disseminated by Data and Information is accurate, timely, and insightful, meeting the high standards of blithequark. Work individually and in teams to deliver accurate detailed breakdowns, clock-and-score, and other metrics and data in real-time that power a multitude of blithequark products and creations. Create and maintain a working knowledge of Data and Information's role in fueling blithequark digital products and television productions, staying updated on the latest trends and technologies. Verify the accuracy of your own work and that of others; perform with a consistently high level of attention to detail, ensuring the quality of our sports data. Contribute to production, operations, and initiatives across the newsroom, and support newsroom leaders who are coordinating full- and part-time staff, fostering a collaborative work environment. Anticipate potential issues, both daily and long-term, and offer possible solutions. Communicate quickly and clearly with colleagues on these issues, promoting effective problem-solving and teamwork. Play a proactive role in working with colleagues in developing or refining production processes, contributing to the continuous improvement of our data gathering and analysis methods. Essential Qualifications Working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules of sports, with a keen interest in sports media and data analysis. Full schedule availability, which will include evenings (only), weekends, and events, ensuring our sports data coverage is comprehensive and timely. Ability to rapidly learn production processes that produce or maintain sports information that drives blithequark's digital and television products, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to learn. Capacity to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production circumstances, meeting deadlines and delivering quality results under pressure. Ability to communicate confidently - verbally and in writing - to production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities, often through the noise of a busy newsroom, promoting clear and effective communication. Preferred Qualifications 1+ year of experience working in sports or statistics, ideally in media, with a proven track record of data analysis and sports information management. Knowledge of how sports information is used in media and for research purposes, with an understanding of the latest trends and technologies in sports data analysis. Working knowledge of blithequark products and creations, with a deep appreciation for our brand and mission. Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office products, with proficiency in data analysis software and tools.
