Job Overview In this critical role, you will be responsible for modeling and delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience, assisting the pharmacist under direct supervision, and providing support for various pharmacy operations. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that every customer interaction is courteous, friendly, and efficient, whether it involves processing prescriptions, answering questions, or resolving issues. You will also play a key role in maintaining the overall appearance and organization of the pharmacy area, including inventory management and visual merchandising. Key Responsibilities Registers sales on assigned cash register and provides customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service. Assists the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, including using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. Engages customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance with products and services, resolving customer issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive customer experience. Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience. Recommends items for sale to customers and suggests trade-up and/or companion items. Maintains records, checks in and prices merchandise, and takes inventory as required or directed by the store manager or shift leader. Performs duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems, filling prescriptions, and assisting with scheduling and workflow maintenance. Reports prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adheres to blithequark policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program. Handles telephone calls, processes manual claims for third-party program prescription services, and performs other clerical duties as assigned. Assists and supports the Pharmacy Department with inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals. Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products and maintains knowledge of company asset protection techniques. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with customers, patients, and colleagues in a friendly and professional manner. You should be highly organized, able to multitask, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. A strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, including pharmacy systems and procedures, is also essential. Additionally, you must be able to work effectively in a team environment, supporting your colleagues and contributing to the overall success of the pharmacy. Preferred Qualifications While not required, preference will be given to candidates who have prior experience working in a pharmacy or retail environment, particularly those with experience in customer service or sales. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) or completion of a pharmacy technician training program is also highly desirable.
