As a Procedure Scheduler in Central Scheduling, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical facilities, coordinating patient appointments, and providing exceptional support to our healthcare teams. About the Role We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Procedure Scheduler to join our Central Scheduling team. As a Procedure Scheduler, you will be responsible for regulating and maintaining patient appointment schedules for Interventional Radiology, Cat Scan, and Special Procedures. Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain patient appointment schedules for various medical procedures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Coordinate with physicians, employees, patients, and patient families to resolve scheduling conflicts and address concerns. Utilize intermediate computer skills to navigate scheduling programs, perform data entry, and maintain accurate records. Prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines and maintain standard workflow. Demonstrate flexibility and cooperation when working with others, maintaining composure during challenging interpersonal interactions. Apply active listening skills, including interpersonal skills and telephone communication, to provide exceptional customer service. Handle multiple procedures and interruptions throughout the day, applying moderate mental application and concentration. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED). At least 2 years of recent experience in a related field, demonstrating relevant skills and knowledge. Intermediate computer skills, including keyboarding, mouse movement, data entry, and scheduling programs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. The ability to work in a flexible and cooperative manner, maintaining composure during challenging situations. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in scheduling or patient access. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and scheduling software. Certifications or training in medical scheduling or a related field. Skills and Competencies To excel as a Procedure Scheduler, you will need to possess: Technical skills: proficiency in scheduling programs, data entry, and Microsoft Office applications. Communication skills: excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders. Organizational skills: strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple procedures, and maintain accurate records. Interpersonal skills: ability to work in a flexible and cooperative manner, maintaining composure during challenging situations.
