Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated Remote Surveillance Camera Technician to join our team. As a key member of our technical support team, you will be responsible for the production, maintenance, and repair of remote camera equipment, as well as providing assistance to our department manager with related tasks. Key Responsibilities Build, maintain, and repair remote camera equipment to ensure optimal performance and functionality Support and assist remote investigators with the deployment and retrieval of camera equipment, providing technical expertise and guidance as needed Test and build camera power supply to ensure proper functioning and minimize downtime Order equipment to meet inventory needs and demand, ensuring that our team has the necessary tools and resources to succeed Track inventory to ensure accurate data for multi-departmental use, maintaining meticulous records and reports Recover corrupted data using troubleshooting methods, demonstrating a strong understanding of technical issues and solutions Provide camera status updates to the team, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and up-to-date Stay current with technological advancements, attending training sessions and workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge Assist in researching innovative components, solutions, and prototypes, contributing to the development of new technologies and processes Assist the department manager with the production and maintenance of surveillance equipment, providing technical support and guidance as needed Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, hardware, and software for routing networks and IP network cameras, ensuring seamless integration and functionality Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues related to internet connectivity, modem/router configurations, and/or investigator equipment, providing timely and effective solutions Provide technical support for remote investigators and other departmental personnel, demonstrating a strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you should possess the following essential qualifications: Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field, with a strong foundation in computer systems, networking, and software applications CompTIA A+ certification, with Networking+ or CCNA certification preferred Experience with cloud computing, preferably AWS, and a strong understanding of cloud-based technologies and platforms Knowledge of surveillance technology, including cameras and video imaging properties such as WDR, frame rates, compressions, resolutions, and zipstreams Technical expertise in working with power tools, splicing wires, soldering, crimping, and low voltage systems Basic networking knowledge, including principles such as DHCP, FTP, SFTP, LAN, and WAN Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evening and weekend duties, to ensure that our team's needs are met Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working with remote camera equipment and surveillance technology Knowledge of IoT protocols and devices, including PoE and modems Familiarity with operating systems, including Windows and Linux Experience with technical support and customer service, demonstrating a strong commitment to satisfaction and resolution Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Delta Group, we are committed to the growth and development of our team members.
