Job Summary We are looking for a highly motivated and best-in-class UPS Battery Maintenance Engineer to join our growing Operations Services team. As a UPS Battery Maintenance Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the critical equipment that supports our data centers, ensuring best-in-class availability for our customers. You will work closely with internal customers, external vendors, and regional resources to facilitate smooth work execution and provide preventative maintenance of UPS batteries in our data centers. Key Responsibilities • Apply preventative maintenance testing techniques to maintain UPS batteries across our fleet of data centers • Act as an ambassador for safety within the team and promote safe working practices across the site • Remain cognizant of and comply with all security protocols • Interact with engineers, technicians, project managers, and management on a daily basis • Work with engineers to develop detailed and creative solutions to complex problems, while managing timelines and costs • Develop and maintain good working relationships across all levels of the organization • Ensure consistency in deployed configurations and track exceptions for follow-up • Execute predictive and preventive maintenance programs • Provide support for LSE, weather events, planned, and unplanned outages • Participate in on-call rotation to support after-hours event response • Provide cross-functional support for ATS and Non-destructive testing teams Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in electrical and battery testing best practices, processes, and tools. You should have a Bachelor's Degree or Technical (Military/Trade School) Degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Additionally, you should have at least 1+ years of relevant work experience in a critical environment, such as a data center. Preferred Qualifications • Sound understanding of electrical and battery testing best practices, processes, and tools • Work experience in a critical environment, such as a data center • Data center operations experience • Team lead experience supporting data center operations environment with a history of assigning work to more junior technicians • Ability to recognize safety concerns and maintain a safe work environment under NFPA 70e guidelines • Organized self-starter with strong analytic abilities and proven problem-solving skills • Ability to maintain vendor relationships Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess a unique combination of technical, business, and interpersonal skills. You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with internal customers, external vendors, and regional resources. You should be highly autonomous, detail-oriented, and able to work independently, as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You should also have a strong understanding of battery systems and be able to identify areas for improvement, as well as act on data provided from other teams and organizations. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits The compensation for this role is competitive, with a pay range of $39.38 - $41.56 per hour, depending on location and experience.
