About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Big Data Software Engineer to join our team on a part-time basis, working remotely from New Jersey, USA. As a Senior Big Data Software Engineer at blithequark, you will play a critical role in leading moderately complex initiatives and projects within our technical domain. You will contribute to the large-scale planning of systems, design, code, test, troubleshoot, and report on projects and initiatives related to our technology space, including upgrades and services. Key Responsibilities Lead moderately complex initiatives and projects within technical domain conditions Contribute to large-scale planning of systems Design, code, test, troubleshoot, and report on projects and initiatives related to our technology space, including upgrades and services Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth assessment of technologies and systems Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing customer needs or potential new customer needs while utilizing a strong understanding of the capability, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements Collaborate and communicate with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve objectives Lead projects and act as an escalation point, providing guidance and direction to less experienced staff Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: 3+ years of programming experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education 3+ years of hands-on experience with Hadoop 3+ years of experience with Teradata 3+ years of experience with MongoDB 3+ years of experience with AWS 3+ years of experience with GitHub and Bitbucket 3+ years of experience designing, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and reporting for projects and initiatives 3+ years of experience in Python and Unix/Shell scripting, Scala, Spark, HBase, Oozie, Flume, and Kafka 3+ years of experience in Ansible Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following skills and experience are highly desirable: Strong interpersonal skills (verbal and written) across all organizational levels of technical and non-technical audiences Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and have a proactive mindset Experience in designing ETL data streams using creating mappings/workflows to extract data from SQL Server and Data Migration and Transformation from Oracle/Access/Excel Sheets using SQL Server SSIS Related experience working as a Software Engineer at blithequark Career Growth and Development At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
