Job Summary The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, direction, and oversight to a team of engineers and designers, supporting GEH Nuclear. The primary focus will be on managing complex issues within the functional area of expertise, contributing to long-term planning, and developing the overall engineering and 3D model development strategy. As a Senior Engineer - Plant Arrangement, you will be responsible for supporting the BWRX-300 SMR plant layout and arrangement, ensuring seamless integration of systems, structures, and components. Your expertise will be crucial in driving the project forward, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality results. Key Responsibilities Support the design and development of the BWRX-300 SMR plant layout and arrangement, focusing on Nuclear Island, Turbine Island, and Balance of Plant systems, structures, and components. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including design partners and suppliers, to ensure effective communication and coordination. Develop and implement work instructions, execute programs in the 3D model, and manage change control processes. Interface with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain effective interdisciplinary arrangement and layout interfaces. Support the production of lifetime-record documents, based on the 3D model, for design, licensing, fabrication, and construction purposes. Contribute to the development and maintenance of work plans, scope of work packages, and supplier management. Work collaboratively with business leaders to ensure close coordination of technical inputs and outputs, project requirements, workforce planning, and risk management. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need to possess: A Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, Structural, or similar). A minimum of 7 years of experience in a technology or engineering role, with a strong background in nuclear power plant design, layout, operations, and maintenance. Demonstrated people management and motivation skills, with experience in leading and managing highly technical and diverse engineering teams. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a matrix environment and manage multiple stakeholders. Knowledge of working within a regulated environment (nuclear) and familiarity with quality standards and systems (e.g., NQA-1 and ISO 9000). Excellent problem-solving abilities, with strong organizational and communication skills. Desired Characteristics While not essential, the following characteristics are highly desirable: Master's degree or Ph.D. in an engineering or technical discipline. Experience with Nuclear Island, Turbine Island, and/or Balance of Plant design, layout, operations, and maintenance. Prior experience in project delivery and working within a matrix environment. Strong customer mindset, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and cope under pressure. Six Sigma training or certification. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills.
