About the Opportunity As a Software Engineering Manager for Google Virtual Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in driving the technical vision and strategy for our virtual assistant projects. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership: Set clear technical direction and goals for your team, aligning with the broader organization's objectives. Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to team members. Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the technical roadmap for your team, ensuring it meets future requirements and infrastructure needs. Project Management: Oversee project objectives, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to drive project success. Code Review and Development: Design, code, and review software solutions to complex problems. Ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and testing protocols. Team Management: Set clear expectations with team members based on their level and role. Provide regular feedback, coaching, and development opportunities to enhance their skills and performance. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with various stakeholders, including product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to drive project goals and resolve technical issues. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's Degree: In Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Technical Expertise: 8+ years of experience in software development with proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript). Leadership Experience: Proven track record of leading high-performing engineering teams and driving technical projects to successful completion. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges. Preferred Qualifications Experience in Complex Organizations: 3+ years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization, with a deep understanding of its dynamics and challenges. Google or Android Experience: Familiarity with Google's technology stack or experience working on Android projects. Virtual Assistant Knowledge: Understanding of virtual assistant technologies and ecosystems.
