Job Overview and Responsibilities As a Studio Performer and Group Fitness Instructor at Life Time, you will have the opportunity to teach a variety of exciting and challenging group fitness classes, including Barbell Strength, LifeBarre, Warrior Sculpt, Xtreme, Strike, Kettlebell Kombine, and Gluteus Maxout, among others. Your role will be to provide exceptional instruction, educate participants on proper form and technique, and create a positive and supportive environment that fosters engagement and motivation. You will also be responsible for promoting Life Time Fitness programs, products, and services, and encouraging participation in Group Fitness classes. Develop and maintain positive relationships with class participants through effective communication and exceptional customer service Teach a variety of group fitness classes, including high-intensity interval training, strength training, and cardio classes Educate class participants on correct form and alternative moves during the fitness routine Attentively listen to members, answer questions, and engage in conversation before and after classes Clean and organize studio space after each Group Fitness class Provide current music for each class that entertains and motivates while ensuring appropriate language Promote Life Time Fitness promotions, programs, products, and services while specifically encouraging participation for Group Fitness classes Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong passion for fitness and instruction, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and be able to adapt to changing situations and priorities. High School Diploma or GED 1 or more years of fitness instructor work experience CPR/AED Certification Minimum of one of the following Group Exercise Certifications: National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM), American Council of Exercise (ACE), American Fitness Aerobic Association (AFAA), Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA) Ability to perform an aerobic activity for duration of a class, which may include, but not limited to, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, running, crawling, and kneeling Ability to routinely lift 50 pounds and occasionally 100 pounds Ability to perform exercises specific to the assigned class Preferred Qualifications and Skills In addition to the required qualifications, we are looking for candidates who possess excellent leadership and motivational skills, as well as the ability to create a positive and supportive environment. You should be able to work effectively in a team environment and be able to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
