Expert Zapier Automation Developer for AI-Powered GTM Consulting Platform (Zapier, Notion, AI APIs)
Project Overview I am building a productized consulting service called Samostrat. It is a structured, 81-point diagnostic framework that helps B2B companies identify why their growth has stalled and provides an actionable roadmap to restart it. I am looking for a senior Zapier automation expert to be my core technical partner and build the entire operational backend of this system. This is not a simple task of connecting a few apps. You will be responsible for translating a complex, multi-step business logic (the 81-point framework) into a robust, repeatable, and scalable automated system. The core technology stack is: • Automation Platform: Zapier • Database/CRM: Notion • AI Integration: Manus AI (via API, similar to OpenAI/GPT) • Custom Logic: Python or JavaScript for data manipulation, custom API calls, and error handling Important: I need you to build this system in a way that I can understand, maintain, and modify myself after the initial build. This means excellent documentation and knowledge transfer are critical requirements. Key Responsibilities • Build Zapier automations based on detailed technical briefs I will provide for each diagnostic item (you will NOT need to figure out the business logic—I will specify exactly what data to collect, from where, and what to do with it) • Translate my written briefs into functional, multi-step Zapier workflows (Zaps) • Integrate with various third-party APIs to pull data (e.g., company information APIs, website analysis tools, LinkedIn) • Make API calls to our core AI engine (Manus AI) to perform analysis and generate insights, then process the JSON responses • Use the Notion API to create, update, and manage client databases and report pages programmatically • Write custom Python or JavaScript code snippets within Zapier to handle complex data transformations, conditional logic, and error handling • Build a scalable and maintainable system that can be easily cloned for new clients • Document every workflow thoroughly so I can understand, troubleshoot, and modify it myself • Provide a knowledge transfer session at the end of the project to walk me through the system • Troubleshoot and debug automation workflows to ensure reliability and accuracy Required Skills & Experience • Expert-level mastery of Zapier. You must have experience building complex, multi-step (20+ steps) workflows with conditional logic, filters, paths, and loops • Strong experience with the Notion API. Proven ability to programmatically create and update databases, pages, and complex page content using Zapier's Notion integration or custom API calls • Proficiency with REST APIs and JSON. You must be comfortable reading API documentation, authenticating, making calls, and parsing complex JSON responses • Solid coding skills in Python or JavaScript. You will need to write custom code within Zapier's Code by Zapier module for tasks that are too complex for standard actions • Experience with AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI/GPT, Claude, or similar). You should understand how to structure prompts, make API calls, and use the generated output in a Zapier workflow • A systems-thinking mindset. You must be able to think about the entire process end-to-end and build a system that is robust, scalable, and easy to maintain • Excellent documentation skills. You must be able to document your work clearly so a non-technical person can understand and maintain it • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions Nice-to-Have Skills • Experience with marketing or sales APIs (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Google Analytics, SEMrush, BuiltWith) • Experience building internal tools or operational systems for a consulting or agency business • Familiarity with data scraping and web analysis tools • Experience with Make.com or N8N (in case we migrate in the future) Screening Questions Please answer these questions in your application: 1.
